Hi guys. Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I kind of forgot about the blog. I had lots of fun at Girls Camp. Last year, we had air conditioned cabins. This year, we had canvas tents. We had to have cots and mosquito nets. I'm glad I had a mosquito net because there were at least 20 daddy longlegs in our tents every time we went in there. Bug spray didn't seem to work. Raccoons kept coming in every night and scratching the underside of the cots. It was hot and everyone was stinky and sweaty. I only got to take a shower once because I lost my bathroom supplies. We had to walk about five minutes to get from the campsite to the bathroom or the eating place (which wasn't air conditioned)! Then they saw fit to take us on a 3 mile hike! I mean, what's up with that?! I was always losing things and one time I even couldn't find my only pair of shoes! (I'll get to that in a minute) They had nice cool showers that you had to go in before and after you went swimming. the first official day, we went to the swimming pool and had a swimming race. You had to swim from one end of the pool and back. I won on the way there, but on the way back, I could barely move. The only two air conditioned places were the kitchen and the place where the priesthood slept. Surprisingly, they had really good food there. Our first meal there, we had chicken Alfredo. They had the freeze pops in the back of the kitchen that we could go and take as many as we wanted whenever we wanted them! The first night, some of my friends and I played a prank on some other campers. We went to whoever we could hear talking and we took a thick stick and made scuffling noises on the ground. We took it and lightly scratched it on the side of the tent. You would hear them saying things like, "There's a raccoon outside! Quick, shine a light on it and scare it away!" It was so funny! A couple of girls screamed. On the second to last day, the YCLs (Youth Camp Leaders) said that it was tradition to leave your shoes outside the tent at night. I knew something was up, but I did it anyway. I woke up in the morning and they weren't there! Those were my only pair of shoes that I brought, so I had to borrow someone else's. They were 2 sizes too small. We went to go eat breakfast, and we found our shoes. They had strung them up by their shoelaces on the flagpoles. I never wore sunscreen, but I didn't get sunburned. The last day, we went out to the forest. They had little activities set up for us. The first thing we did was split up into groups. I got put into team 'A' and the other team was team 'B'. Team 'B' didn't think it was fair the we got and 'a' in our name and they didn't. So, we were then made into team 'AB' and team 'BA'. We were nicknamed Team ABBA. Great, huh? They had these cable lines that were tied to trees. We had to make it from one tree to another without falling off. The drawing at the top is of some of the activities that we did. The top on is the Mohawk Walk. The next on is the Meat Grinder. The one on the bottom is the Ski Walk. The were soooooooooooo much fun!
